Visit of the village and heritage of Prévinquières
This village kept its medieval charm and history which you can learn about in its streets. Indeed, this fortified medieval village, set high above the river Aveyron still bears parts of its fortification from the Hundred years war when the English took over the region. You can still see its three gates which regulated the comings and goings of the inhabitants as well as the square tower alongside the south gate. Despite these fortifications, the village fell to the English in 1376 and had to be ransomed by the Count of Armagnac. It has kept several old houses and the ruins of the little castle of Prévinquières (13th century) on the outskirts of the village, which was first occupied by the Valettes, before 1262.
